American Culture Class- Economy

The economy in Taiwan is like M-form. It means that middle class is very few. Poor people become poorer while rich people become richer. The main products in Taiwan are electronics and most of products trade to foreign countries. I don’t think my country is doing well at managing the money of my country because nowadays, the average salary is the same as 10 years ago. The commodity price increases very quickly. It doesn’t equal the how much money we make. Comparing to the United States, American average salary is 2.5 times of ours. If I can change it, I hope the government can formulate a policy for increasing average salary for us. When citizen have more income, it can effect consumption. If people have purchasing ability, the economy will grow up well.

Culture class T-shirts and Tuxedo

I believe that fashion is an aspect of culture as well as art because of expression, history and evolution. First, every country has their own fashion that expresses their culture. For example, wearing traditional clothes make special expression on people. They may be interested in your clothes and culture. Also, they may know where you are from. Second, in history, different time has appropriate fashion in the culture. It represents what happening at that time. Finally, fashion is like evolution. For instance, in World War II, Americans wanted to adapt to hot weather. American soldiers learned clothing lesson from the French. The T-shirts became part of the uniform for all solider. In conclusion, fashion has attracted expression on people, events in history and updating every period.

American Culture Class: Martin Luther King Jr.

Today, we learned about Martin Luther King Jr. He talked about freedom. Equality is very important for every one. People are free in the United State means that there is no violence, segregation, and racism. They believe in peace. In my county, there was a great leader whose name is Sun Yat-Sen. He was like Martin Luther King Jr. He was against Emperors’. He thought that every one must be equal. Why just nobility can be leader and why just nobility can have happy life? He brought us towards civilization and peace. He stopped segregation and made every one equal. His soul was the same as Martin Luther King Jr. I really enjoyed today’s class and I was happy to learn Martin Luther King Jr.’s story.
